The government has announced its decision to release BNP chairperson and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia for six months. A recommendation has been sent to the Home Ministry.

Law Minister, Law and Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Haque Begum made this known during an urgent briefing on Khaleda Zia on Tuesday (March 27th).

The minister said it was decided by the Hon'ble Prime Minister to suspend his sentence for six months on two terms. The condition is that at this time he has to stay in his own home in Dhaka and he cannot go abroad.
